It's SO fun being a girl!!

Throughout my years of photography I have photographed all types people and events. Everything from business photos to "furry family" (a.k.a. dogs), Christmas cards to corporate Christmas parties, etc. I have found that one my niches is children.

I find that I have the best connection with children. They are are so unpredictable and everything is so sweet about them! They have wonder, curiosity, and innocence in their eyes that is unlike any other age.

You know how your child always behaves better for other adults than for you?! Well, I find this to be true while photographing them. I like the moms to help get smiles when needed. Though, I find that once the child has warmed up to me and if we just have our time alone together I can capture what I am looking for much more naturally than if mom is watching.

Today, I want to share a recent session of my sweet niece, Grace, 6 month photos.

I love my mommy!

Spring and new life!

I find spring to be so refreshing; the week everything turns green and begins to bud is a magical sight! I feel spring is like that moment you step out of bed and have arms to the sky, full body stretch!
This year it has taken so long to get here, I think I can speak for a lot of us when I say, "we appreciate it SO much more."
For us, it has been spent thus far with family and friends on our long evening walks. Every nice day spent outside until the last ray of sunshine has disappeared.
The sunlight is feeding us so much that when we do enter the indoors we think to ourselves, "oh what's for dinner?" That's when we know warm weather is upon us!
As Easter has come and gone early this year, I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of the baby chicks! As they need warm weather to survive!
I hope you enjoy these precious photos of Ben exploring the baby chicks. From one baby to another, everything is new and exciting!

Ben warming up to the chicks: at first unsure when Nana hands him one to"Hey wait, I kind of like you come back here!"

Just playing with fun hats on the farm!
So, these are the things in the books at home that say, "cheap, cheap, cheap", I like these baby chicks!

Wonderful testimonials from my wonderful clients!

I was going through my boxes and piles of frames and to my surprise I came across my MANY "thank you" cards I have received over the years.

It made me feel wonderful to sit down and read them!

Love and You Shall Be Loved

Today I have posted some of my favorite photos from my most recent sessions. Above are  three different stages of baby: maternity, newborn and 3 month. Each special in their own way. Each with their own love and anticipation!

The maternity session is a past couple whose wedding I photographed, expecting thier first this May!

The newborn photo is also a past bride and groom client of mine who just had their first baby!

And the sweet little girl is my niece, Grace :)

Life moves so quickly. From day to day babies are growing and changing. I feel so lucky to photograph these families as they grow. They allow me to capture these magical moments in time forever.

To have children is to love and be loved. I wish for everyone to remember to slow down, enjoy and savor, and CAPTURE this love :)

Full Circle

I was so excited when the M couple called me to tell me they were becoming a family of 3. I have had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful couple's engagement session, wedding and now maternity. For a photographer, I think this is one of the best parts of our job. I love watching beautiful families grow and change and capturing this for my clients. As a photographer and artist my goal is to leave each family with images they will treasure for a lifetime. I am so excited for baby M to arrive!
I titled this blog "Full Circle" because the last time I saw this couple was on their wedding day and I was the one who was 7 months pregnant with my first. So, it's fun for me to watch as they embark on this same journey!
Congratulations M Family! I can't wait to meet your son or daughter! Get ready to fall madly in love, all over again, with your little one as well as each other. Your friend & photographer,
Emily Tysdal

Fantastic Vendors!

Hello all, everyone knows how important your wedding day vendors are. Today, I wanted to share with you a couple vendors I have recently visited.
I photographed a wedding at the Wayzata Community Church and at the Chambers Hotel downtown Minneapolis. Both had impeccable style and accommodations!
The wedding coordinator at Wayzata Community Church is John Estrem. It is his goal to make this a wonderful day for the bride and groom by taking care of all the technical details. He will see that the procedures and rules established by the church are observed, and ensure the church's integrity. All matters of decorum and etiquette can be discussed with him. He has the responsibility to state and interpret the church's policies and procedures to photographers, florists, and any others involved with your wedding.

The Chambers Hotel was absolutely fantastic! It is located in one of Minneapolis' most alluring neighborhoods. And designed for those who are inspired by contemporary art and cuisine. The hotel features over 200 pieces of original contemporary art work. Le Meridien Chambers has partnered with Walker Art Center Minneapolis.

A couple of wedding coordinators who helped things run smoothly at the Chambers Hotel were Rachelle Mazumdar & Madeline Johnson with Style ArchitectsI found it quite helpful that both coordinators had itineraries so myself and all the other vendors were all on the same page.

I would like to thank the vendors mentioned above for working together, you have all been great! And I look forward to future encounters!

The Chamber's Ice Bar, very unique!
Wayzata Community Church was very accommodating to this couple's special service with the candles lit by each guest for their unity fire pit!
The Chambers exceptional Service and exquisite style!

Gorgeous setting at The Chambers!
